PROGETTI UE: FINAL CONFERENCE VIBES
il 14 maggio 2025 presso la Torretta del CUS Palermo si è svolta la conferenza finale del progetto europeo #VIBES, che ha riunito istituzioni, università, scuole e partner europei in una mattinata ricca di contenuti, emozioni e visione sul futuro.
Ad aprire i lavori, i saluti istituzionali di Giovanni Randisi (Presidente CUS Palermo), On. Fabrizio Ferrara (Presidente Commissione Parlamentare Sport ARS), Dario Chinnici (Consigliere Comunale del Comune di Palermo), Roberta Cascio (FISDIR) e Giuseppe Battaglia (UNIPA). Il progetto è stato presentato da Rosario Genchi, Project Manager CUS Palermo, e Vito Rizza, psicologo del team.
In sala anche i partner europei, intervenuti direttamente a Palermo: Marc Sarens e Wouter Cools dalla Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgio), José Pedro Amoroso, David Silva e Louis Coelho dal Politecnico di Leiria (Portogallo), Olia Tsivitanidou di Inquiry Fuse e Efstathios Christodoulides di UCLan Cyprus.
L’intera conferenza è stata trasmessa in diretta streaming, permettendo a stakeholder, docenti e appassionati da tutta Europa di seguire i lavori e intervenire in tempo reale — abbattendo ogni confine geografico e rendendo l’evento davvero internazionale.
E poi il momento che ha sorpreso tutti: il question time finale con gli studenti, che hanno animato il dibattito con domande acute e una curiosità travolgente. Ragazzi che hanno capito di avere tra le mani una tecnologia ancora tutta da esplorare — e non vedono l’ora di farlo.
La realtà virtuale a scuola non è più fantascienza.

On 14 May 2025, the final conference of the European #VIBES project took place at the Torretta del CUS Palermo, bringing together institutions, universities, schools and European partners for a morning packed with content, excitement and a vision for the future.
The proceedings opened with institutional greetings from Giovanni Randisi (President of CUS Palermo), Hon. Fabrizio Ferrara (Chair of the ARS Parliamentary Sports Committee), Dario Chinnici (Palermo City Councillor), Roberta Cascio (FISDIR) and Giuseppe Battaglia (UNIPA). The project was presented by Rosario Genchi, Project Manager at CUS Palermo, and Vito Rizza, the team’s psychologist.
Also present in the hall were the European partners, who spoke directly from Palermo: Marc Sarens and Wouter Cools from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), José Pedro Amoroso, David Silva and Louis Coelho from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal), Olia Tsivitanidou from Inquiry Fuse and Efstathios Christodoulides from UCLan Cyprus.
The entire conference was streamed live, allowing stakeholders, academics and enthusiasts from across Europe to follow the proceedings and participate in real time — breaking down all geographical barriers and making the event truly international.And then came the moment that took everyone by surprise: the final Q&A session with the students, who livened up the debate with sharp questions and an infectious curiosity. These young people have realised that they have a technology in their hands that is still waiting to be explored — and they can’t wait to get started.
Virtual reality in schools is no longer the stuff of science fiction.
